The Jazz Standard club in Manhattan is, in a word, phenomenal. This photograph really doesn't do it justice: inside it's absolutely beautiful, with plush, comfortable seats, beautiful, well-dressed people, dim-and-marvellous lighting and the best jazz musicians around. Seriously, I am IN LOVE with this place. Check it out if you get the chance, the address is 116 E 27th Street (between Park and Lex), NYC.Wednesday, 26 August 2009
The coolest place in town

Me, in my room in Long Island. I'm wearing a grey sheer-sparkle dress with black stripes and exaggerated shoulders, even if you can't see it (it's the dress I blogged about in 'My new purchase') and plain black heels before a party my hosts threw in their beautiful art/sculpture-infested house and estate.

I love SoHo because...

...I got this there! Cute huh? We were heading for Topshop/H&M on Broadway and I spotted this at a street vendor. Originally it was $40 but I got it down to $20. Score! I'm wearing it right now, and (high-pitched voice) loove it! I HEART NEW YORK!
P.S. My best friend Sage bought, and is proudly wearing, the H&M sequin leggings I blogged about last. Awesome or what?!

I. Am. Obsessed. With. H&M!!

I absolutely ADORE these sequin leggings, especially paired with a plain white shirt. For a party, I'd wear them with high-heeled, studded, tan gladiators and maybe an awesome belt if the shirt was oversized, and for a more casual look, with flip flops and a plain black blazer (fitted or oversize depending on the shirt, undone). I feel a urge to shop coming on...

My new purchase

Check out this dress I just bought, left. Gorgeous or what? It's a rather accurate mimic of the sharp-shouldered Balmain creation worn by Kate Moss, and I love it! I'll be taking it with me to wear for my friend's grandparents party in New York, held in their beautiful Head of the Harbour house. Perhaps I'll be able to charm some of the well-known musicians who'll be in attendance, playing for us... A girl can hope right?
