Literary Crush: Milan Kundera

I just finished Kundera's 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being' and 'Immortality'. Beautiful, thought-provoking, push-the-boundaries, contraversial, question-ALL-your-beliefs prose. Kundera makes us question the things we thought we understood, and separate social norms for what is really right, wrong, or just a personal decision. Read him, but be warned, he WILL change you.

Seems like everything I do, NAAG does too...

...which is totally freaking awesome, by the way.
Anyway, first it was the String Doll Gang (quick update: my new Lover Boy is currently dangling from my Juicy purse and looking very dashing indeed - let's hope his Thai voodoo works!), now it's hookups with hot Spaniards.
Apparently, Barelona (or, in my case, Spain generally) + American tourist (or, in my case, British tourist) = sex with hot Spaniard (or in my case, in my dreams. No, seriously. Ahem, moving on... sex there was none, hot make out session there was plenty).
So, once again, I'm feeling smug and ahead of the curve. Who knew making out with a hot Spanish guy was fashionable? Looking forward to round 2...

Gasp.

I just bought this online. Can I justify spending $30 on nail lacquer just because it's a-freakin'-dorable? DAMN STRAIGHT I CAN!

¡Viva España!

I just got back from my short vacation in Southern Spain, and I can tell you, what a whirlwind of a trip!

My short time in hot, passionate Spain led to some hot, passionate moments...mostly with a beautiful Spanish boy named Jose. Ahem... Aside from that, I discovered some fabulous places to hang out, including my old favourite, Kaleido, which has kept its wall-length bar, loud-and-lovely house music, and flirtacious atmosphere, but classed up the joint a little by filling the dance floor (mostly) with lounge-like small tables and chairs. The main thrill blasting out of the speakers on the various nights (or should I say, mornings) that I went there was 'We No Speak Americano', and the cocktail that they do the best here is the equal parts delicious and lethal White Russian. The lounge-like, relaxing, low-pressure feel of the place paired with the disco balls and coloured strobe lights of a hard-partying cosmopolitan club will keep you coming back for more to this chameleon "cafeteria & snackbar" by day, "terraza and danceclub" by night. Check out their website: http://www.kaleido.es/

My other favourite Benalmadena haunt is - wait for it - an ice bar. That's right, an actual bar, entirely crafted from ice, much like the notorious Ice Hotel, except much smaller (it's pretty small for a bar, as the technology can't cope with a large amount of human body heat, but this really doesn't stop Boal's Icebar from being incredibly cool - pun intended). The bar (a huge, elaborately carved ice block) is lit from within (or, perhaps, behind) by colour-changing lights and even the glasses that they serve your delicious, naturally cooled alcohol in are made of ice. Fabulous darling! Read more at http://www.yourmarbella.com/boalsicebar/default.aspx
